: I suppose any post-''Gunfighters'' story with Dodo and Steven must be set between the penultimate and final scenes of ''The Gunfighters''. Thanks for the answer. This seems a like a bit of a stretch, but a stretch on the part of the writers who are doing the inserting to place adventures there, not you for merely stating it. I believe your explanation is the most plausible-sounding one and you're probably right, although I haven't actually experienced any stories that purport to be set between it (bar Murder in the Dark, which makes no attempt to justify its setting), nor do I remember what they were wearing either, but yours sounds likely true from what I do know. 21:34, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
: I haven't read ''Murder in the Dark'' (or might have just skimmed it for information on Dodo) but I do know that ''The Gunfighters'' was mentioned or alluded to in ''Mother Russia'' (Dodo says she'll teach piano so long as she doesn't have to play ''Last Chance Saloon''), ''64 Carlysle Street'' (Steven mentions Tombstone) and ''Return of the Rocket Men'' (Steven mentions the Old West).
:I'd guess that the others have been placed in the gap these stories have made because there isn't nearly as much wiggle room between the other Dodo stories - ''The Ark'' has the Doctor sneezing (Dodo remarks on him having a cold just as she's lost hers) and turning invisible (Dodo assumes it's due to the Refusians), leading straight into ''The Celestial Toymaker''.
:''The Celestial Toymaker'' has the trio going into the TARDIS, talking how the Doctor tricked the Toymaker and Dodo giving the Doctor a sweet that she got from Cyril, going straight into ''The Gunfighters''.
:However, ''The Gunfighters'' ends with the trio entering the TARDIS and then cuts to a scene where they land on the planet of the Savages, all dressed (as I've just checked) in different clothes and with no dialogue about what they've just been through. It seems to me the only possible gap between any of these stories - although I would have said a story in New York between ''The Massacre'' and ''The Ark'' would have been impossible before ''Salvation''. Why does our entry for TV: The Gunfighters say "leads directly into TV: The Savages"? I mean, it certainly APPEARS to, but we have placed a number of EU stories between the two so it looks odd to have it say that when the page itself blatantly contradicts that. Also, side note, whilst this isn't strictly relevant to the editing of this page, how DO those stories justify their own setting? How can any story possibly come between The Gunfighters and The Savages? The former pretty unambiguously leads into the latter! NightmareofEden 20:03, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

I suppose any post-Gunfighters story with Dodo and Steven must be set between the penultimate and final scenes of The Gunfighters. I can't remember off the top of my head what they were all wearing in that final TARDIS scene. Jack "BtR" Saxon 20:44, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

I haven't read Murder in the Dark (or might have just skimmed it for information on Dodo) but I do know that The Gunfighters was mentioned or alluded to in Mother Russia (Dodo says she'll teach piano so long as she doesn't have to play Last Chance Saloon), 64 Carlysle Street (Steven mentions Tombstone) and Return of the Rocket Men (Steven mentions the Old West).
I'd guess that the others have been placed in the gap these stories have made because there isn't nearly as much wiggle room between the other Dodo stories - The Ark has the Doctor sneezing (Dodo remarks on him having a cold just as she's lost hers) and turning invisible (Dodo assumes it's due to the Refusians), leading straight into The Celestial Toymaker.
The Celestial Toymaker has the trio going into the TARDIS, talking how the Doctor tricked the Toymaker and Dodo giving the Doctor a sweet that she got from Cyril, going straight into The Gunfighters.
However, The Gunfighters ends with the trio entering the TARDIS and then cuts to a scene where they land on the planet of the Savages, all dressed (as I've just checked) in different clothes and with no dialogue about what they've just been through. It seems to me the only possible gap between any of these stories - although I would have said a story in New York between The Massacre and The Ark would have been impossible before Salvation.
