While I have no problem with calling this a short story, since, after all, it does in fact present a narrative, I think if we include this there are other DWU books that do the same or a similar thing (have tongue-in-cheek fictitious biographies of the author or authors). Can't remember any off the top of my head though, I'll have to go through my DWU book collection and double check. Ah, good to know there are already more examples of this in more mainstream DW as well! That's helpful because I was about to wonder if this sort of thing would normally not be considered for similar reasons to what is outlined on Talk:Good dog! (short story), and this was only acceptable due to the metafictional and experimental nature of much of Faction Paradox and related properties, so a "closer to home", so to speak, example helps a great deal! If I can find the books I mean I might get cracking on creating the others soon, but right now there's something else I should be doing and have already procrastinated on long enough! :To be fair, I think the closer analogue is Author Biographies, which is currently valid, but, uh, "this has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move". (I think these have a better argument for being valid than most of the non-fiction but snarky ones in TBotE, but there are a few that might give me pause. Regardless, our current view is "valid, but there will most definitely be a thread on this when we get the forums back.") Short Story?edit source
NightmareofEden ☎ 15:53, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
- I know we're already covering fictitious author biographies from Summer Falls and Other Stories. 15:56, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
