Elroy Josephs (20 February 1939-8 February 1997[1]) played Jamaica in the Doctor Who television story The Smugglers. According to Toby Hadoke, he was the first black actor with a significant speaking role in Doctor Who history. (DCOM: The Tenth Planet)
