Officers of the Quintessence rank of the House Military's Seventh Wave served as intermediaries between the militaristic ethos of soldiers and the high-level thoughts of time strategists.
It was named in reference to the alchemical (PROSE: The Book of the War) and archemathical concept of quintessence, (PROSE: Against Nature) which was used to reconcile theories with conflicting observations.
Officers above the Quintessence rank frowned on the Redemption Cult, despite that one of the Cult's founders, Redloom, held the rank on his path to General.
Hierarchio was a Quintessence Officer. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
