Group Marshal Stike was a Sontaran who led the Ninth Sontaran Battle Group and allied himself with Chessene in the hopes of gaining unlimited time travel.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Hoping to use time travel to win the Sontarans' war against the Rutans, Stike agreed to Chessene o' the Franzine Grig's offer of the Doctor's TARDIS in return for him wiping out the scientists aboard Space Station Camera. He began to lose trust in Chessene after the Second Doctor's TARDIS disappeared and sent Varl with her, Joinson Dastari, Shockeye o' the Quawncing Grig and the unconscious Doctor to Earth, (PROSE: The Two Doctors [+]Loading...["The Two Doctors (novelisation)"]) chosen by Chessene in part because of its proximity to the Madillon Cluster where the Ninth Sontaran Battle Group were preparing to fight, to set up a homing beacon for him to follow.

Stike became impatient for Dastari to isolate the Second Doctor's symbiotic nuclei to make the Kartz-Reimer module operational as he intended to join the Ninth Sontaran Battle Group before they went to battle and was angered by the Second Doctor's attempts to dishonour him. Eventually, he threatened to kill everybody at the Doña Arana's hacienda and return to his group unless the operation was completed by the end of the day. The Sixth Doctor tricked him into believing that he could make the Kartz-Reimer module operational by imprinting the Sixth Doctor's nuclei into the briode nebuliser, after which Stike planned to betray his allies.

Stabbed in the leg by Jamie McCrimmon, Stike pretended to be searching for his escaped attacker and the Sixth Doctor and instead sent Varl to contact Sontaran High Command and set his scout ship to self-destruct. They then went to kill Chessene, who killed Varl with coronic acid. After a failed attempt to use the Kartz-Reimer module, Stike returned to his ship to leave the planet, but it self-destructed and killed him. One of his legs was blown into the courtyard where it was found by Shockeye. (TV: The Two Doctors [+]Loading...["The Two Doctors (TV story)"])
