The Antebellum was an era in the history of the Totality. It concluded with the outbreak of the War in Heaven.
According to the Surgeon, part of what made the Superiors an unrivalled power during the Antebellum was the sheer tenacity with which they clung to existence, one example being the "matrix of crystals" they used to preserve even the minds of dead individuals. (PROSE: The V Cwejes)
