- Filming of The Beast Below featured Karen Gillan and her stunt double on wires outside the TARDIS.
- The "goo" in the star whale's mouth included cabbage and bits of potato and stunk. "It was brutally smelly, really grim", according to Matt Smith
- Onboard Starship UK, London is on floor 207.
- Filming for The Beast Below, on 10th September 2009 for the scene where Amy saves the day and Liz Ten abdicates, took place at Neath Abbey, Wales – about an hour's drive from Cardiff.
