Tenniel Evans (17 May 1926-10 June 2009[1]) played Major Daly in the Doctor Who television story Carnival of Monsters.
Career[[edit] | [edit source]]
Evans was an old friend of Jon Pertwee, having appeared opposite him in the long-running BBC radio comedy The Navy Lark. He suggested that Pertwee audition for the part of the Third Doctor after hearing of Patrick Troughton's departure from the role; Evans was unaware that the Doctor Who production office was already considering Pertwee for the role[2].
When Patrick Troughton died, Evans took over his role in the ITV sitcom The Two of Us.
Personal life[[edit] | [edit source]]
He is the father of Big Finish actress Serena Evans.
