Alan Moore (born 18 November 1953[1]) was the writer of a number of backup features for Doctor Who Magazine during the earlier phase of his career. He left the title alongside fellow writer Steve Moore (no relation), after Steve Moore heard from group editor Paul Neary that DWM editor Alan McKenzie was taking one of his strips without his knowledge. In Moore's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, there are more than a few references to the Doctor Who universe:
- The Black Dossier: The Doctor's TARDIS appears on a map of The Blazing World.
- Century: 1969: The Second Doctor appears (non-speaking) for one panel.
- Century: 2009: Captain Jack Harkness and the First and Eleventh Doctors make cameos. Also, M mentions "UNIT and our Cardiff enterprise" at one instant.
