Frobisher's Story was a Sixth Doctor comic strip published in Doctor Who Magazine. It was the fourth and last consecutive script about the Skeletoids, whose tale began in Kane's Story. Despite the title, Frobisher did not feature prominently, though he did serve as the narrator.

Summary[[edit]]

On the planet Vespin, the Sixth Doctor and his allies must put an end to the Skeletoid menace.

Plot[[edit]]

The Doctor uses the TARDIS to transport himself, Frobisher, Peri, Kane, Abel and Kaon to Vespin, where they fight their way into the skeletoid control room. Abel sacrifices himself by transforming into a giant bomb which destroys the skeletoids' control and the giant brains which operate it. The Doctor and his companions travel to Ankara to report that the threat has passed.

Characters[[edit]]

Worldbuilding[[edit]]

  • Frobisher takes the form of a Pantachian Rock Skipper.
  • The planet Ankara is the Federation of Worlds's political capital.
  • The President hosts the Galactic Alliance Summit.
  • Peri and Frobisher take part in repelling the Skeletoids in hand-to-hand combat.

Notes[[edit]]

A colour reprint. (Voyager)
  • This story was reprinted in DWCC 22 and colour reprinted in Voyager.
  • It is never clear who is responsible for uniting the six champions necessary to defeat the Skeletoids. COMIC: The Warrior's Story implies it could have been the TARDIS and previous Fifth Doctor stories present the possibility of the Time Lords, but nothing is made explicit.

Continuity[[edit]]

  • Abel was endowed with metamorphic powers due to the collision of a Time Vortex fragment with his laboratory. (COMIC: Abel's Story [+]Loading...["Abel's Story (comic story)"])
  • Frobisher remembers that Kaon died when he and the Doctor first met him. (COMIC: War-Game [+]Loading...["War-Game (comic story)"])
