Willo the Wisp is a British cartoon television series written by Nick Spargo in the original 1981 series, and Bobbie Spargoin the 2005 series, with narration from Kenneth Williams. Its original series was aired on BBC 1, while its 2005 series was aired on Playhouse Disney.

The series stars the titular Willow the Wisp, who made their debut in an award-winning educational animation created by Spargo for British Gas plc, as well as, among others, the fairy character of Mavis Cruet, and is set in Doyley Woods, a small beech wood in Oxfordshire, near the director's home.

Crossover[[edit] | [edit source]]

The series briefly crossed over with the Doctor Who universe in the 1998 BBC promotional video Future Generations, which featured a young boy travelling through the settings of several series, including Doctor Who.

Partway through the promo, after the boy walks enters Festive Road (Mr Benn), exiting no. 52, Mavis Cruet flies past, while being pursued by Gnasher as Dennis the Menace (Dennis the Menace and Gnasher) skates past.
