In 1904, Yasmin Khan, Dan Lewis, and Eustacius Jericho climbed up a mountain to consult him on what the future held. He watched them as they scaled the mountain, and when they arrived he teased them a little, before revealing that he had three words to tell them: "Fetch your dog". He liked gossip, human contact, and books by Conan Doyle. He liked joking, teasing Yasmin Khan, Dan Lewis and Professor Eustacius Jericho about the fact they they had not brought any gifts with them. He could also be blunt, telling the travellers that they needed to get more exercise. He also joked that he had not got anything for them, while he actually had.
