Universally Known was a Doctor Who Adventures comic strip published in 2014.
Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
Using a psychic transmitter, Snark attempts to strip the Earth of its resources while its people revere him.
Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
Arriving in New York City, the Eleventh Doctor and Clara Oswald find themselves in a city where everyone is enthralled and captivated by a character called Snark — the most famous being in the universe! He's everywhere; on magazine covers, TVs, billboards. The Doctor suspects something is wrong and, using his sonic screwdriver, detects that Snark is using a psychic transmitter nearby that is sending out a signal. When the Doctor tells everyone it makes no difference, they are just even more impressed by Snark's cleverness. The Doctor finds the transmitter in a basement and manages to get rid of the guards by telling them that Snark is making a personal appearance and they run off to see.
But the transmitter is voice coded to Snark himself. Clara has an idea and manages to wing an interview with Snark's personal assistant, Marnie. Transmitting the interview in which Snark boasts of his fourteen planet conquests that are met with no resistance to his plans to strip worlds of their mineral wealth, the Doctor uses the voice pattern to turn the signal off. Within minutes Snark is forgotten by the people. More than that nobody remembers or can even see Snark now! As Snark pleads with Clara it becomes too late and Clara forgets that she was even talking to anyone. Snark is left like a ghost to live on Earth.
