Just checking before editing it, given the template still on the page, but I was wondering: does the article's opening have to be so long. At present, the article's opening is a staggering ten paragraphs long. Now of course, it is a regeneration episode and an end to the Chibnall era of the show and a lot did occur in it, but must it be so long? For comparison, The End of Time (TV story), Twice Upon a Time (TV story) The Time of the Doctor (TV story) only have 7-8 paragraphs and most of those paragraphs are considerably shorter than the ones within this article. It seems excessive. Concerns about other editorsedit source

Okay I am only doing this article because A) I created it first and two I am allowing people to continue this page after the episode is aired so they don't have to create another one The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dophonlin5 (talk • contribs) .

Technically speaking this page shouldn't exist until the episode has aired. Najawin 19:33, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

Yes, I know but I feel like this is a perfect way to do it early plus as you can see on the page, I have not spoiled ANYTHING at all. Dophonlin5 20:36, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

Story pages can't be created until they've been broadcast. That's the rule, I'm afraid. Jack "BtR" Saxon 19:39, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
The wiki policy considers the mere acknowledgement of the episode's name a spoiler. Spoiling plot details is not what concerns this wiki so much. Also, you can sign your comments with four "~"s at the end. Najawin 19:40, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

Alright alright then... Blasted TARDIS WIKI Rules for this. Delete it then Dophonlin5 19:42, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

Unfortunately. I don't think I've ever seen anybody actually agree with our spoiler policies, but we don't have any way to currently facilitate the discussion to overturn or modify them. 22:30, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

David Tennant is officially the Fourteenth?edit source

I just wanted to check because I've seen two news articles claiming it's been confirmed by RTD himself. WaltK 21:00, 23 October 2022 (UTC)

It has been. See https://www.doctorwho.tv/news-and-features/david-tennant-is-the-fourteenth-doctor. Bongo50 21:03, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Unfortunately, the exact line from RTD confirming that Tennant is 14 cannot be quoted on the wiki, per T:SPOIL. – n8 () 21:11, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Yes-but-the-Fugitive-Doctor-precedent. 21:12, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Also, yes we can. At the top of the article, there's: "As Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor regenerated on Sunday 23rd October, it was none other than David Tennant who appeared as the Fourteenth Doctor." OncomingStorm12th 21:13, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
I don't think David Tennant will actually be the 14th Doctor but, until any potential twist comes to pass, this is the information that we should run with. One concern I have, however, is merging The Doctor into a page for the 14th Doctor. As of yet I don't think there is enough information from that short story to confirm these are the same incarnation. DrWHOCorrieFan 21:21, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Indeed, it clearly cannot be; the main thing we know about the Contents Doctor is that they start off in their predecessor's clothes and pick out their new outfit; the main thing we know about the Fourteenth Doctor is that his regeneration somehow involved an immediate outfit change. The Master-Doctoredit source

Should the Sacha Dhawan Doctor be counted as a unique incarnation? The Doctor (The Power of the Doctor), perhaps? WaltK 22:05, 23 October 2022 (UTC)

This discussion has already been started at Talk:The Master. Scrooge MacDuck 22:06, 23 October 2022 (UTC)

Companionsedit source

So for the companion list, I feel that it should also include Dan (for beginning of story) & Vinder as he was companion for a good bit especially at helping Yaz restore the doctor. Gearedspy 22:54, 25 October 2022 (UTC)

At least, I don't believe Mel, Jo and Ian should be included in there. They're former companions, but they didn't serve that purpose here. WaltK 14:09, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

The article's opening lengthedit source

Just checking before editing it, given the template still on the page, but I was wondering: does the article's opening have to be so long. At present, the article's opening is a staggering ten paragraphs long. Now of course, it is a regeneration episode and an end to the Chibnall era of the show and a lot did occur in it, but must it be so long? For comparison, The End of Time (TV story), Twice Upon a Time (TV story) The Time of the Doctor (TV story) only have 7-8 paragraphs and most of those paragraphs are considerably shorter than the ones within this article. It seems excessive. Snivy The coolest Pokemon ever 15:09, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
