* Lawrence Richmond is mentioned by Evelyn as one "Lawrence Smythe" within ''Instruments of Darkness''. While perhaps unusual, ''Instruments'' is well known for holding within it a large number of other contradictions to other sources, many among them regarding the ultimate fate of Evelyn as a companion of the Doctor. With this it can be assumed that the telling of events detailed within ''Instruments'' has a "Lawrence Smythe", if not so within the audio continuity.
* ''Instruments of Darkness'' establishes that Evelyn Smythe married a man named Lawrence and her married name was Evelyn Richmond. However, at one point he is referred to as "Lawrence Smythe" in the same novel.

(AUDIO: Project: Twilight) Evelyn divorced him after he protested against her attending an academic conference on their wedding anniversary. (AUDIO: The Marian Conspiracy) They were in the middle of their divorce in 1993. They had been married for 25 years before this.
