Frozen was an animated film that the Doctor had seen exactly 387 times by their eleventh incarnation, (PROSE: Citation Needed [+]Loading...["Citation Needed (short story)"]) involving an "eternal winter". (TV: Empress of Mars [+]Loading...["Empress of Mars (TV story)"]) Missy told the Saxon Master she recently watched Frozen with the Doctor and the Master asked if it was a form of torture. (PROSE: Alit in Underland [+]Loading...["Alit in Underland (short story)"])
Encyclopedia Gallifreya once possessed an audio index file pertaining to the film that was later deleted. The file contained the words:
Let us go, let us go; Through acid seas and snow; Let us go, let us go; To serve brains of Morpho; I don't care what Yartek will say; Let the Keys be found; The Voord never bothered me anyway.
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Frozen is an animated film produced by Disney and released in 2013, which was based heavily on the Hans Christian Andersen story The Snow Queen.
- The audio index file played in Citation Needed appears to be an altered iteration of the lyrics to the film's main song, "Let It Go".
- An earlier version of the DWM comic story Blood and Ice included, what author Jacqueline Rayner described as a "Frozen tribute", that would "eventually lead to the the Doctor realising Winnie's frozen heart just had to he thawed out". The idea was nixed by the editors, a choice Rayner believed to be "for the best" at the time. Rayner joked that she still would have liked to see what artist Martin Geraghty would have made of her idea to have a "Tenth Planet Cyberman singing "the gold never bothered me anyway".[1]
Connections[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Jonathan Groff voiced Kristoff in the series.
- Lisa Stokke voiced Queen Elsa in the Norwegian language dub of the series.
- John de Lancie voiced Mr. Olsen in Olaf's Frozen Adventure.
