(So I'm hoping doing this doesn't break T:DVAN, but i ignorantly broke T:VID LINK when I wrote this and am removing the offending link. My bad. Big whoops.)

::: Done another quick scan of the internet, as well as our own page on the story - the DVD seems to have the full, uncut scene available as an easter egg, but I don't own the DVD, so I can't check myself. The comments on the YouTube clip I mentioned suggest the writer says he found the song in the BBC archives in the commentary track - again, can't verify. There doesn't seem to be visible sheet music in the scene, at the very least. Haven't actually watched the whole serial yet (about to though), so not sure if there's information outside of the scene itself about the song and its composer, but my quick look last night seemed to suggest it was kinda just there. - CodeAndGin | 🗨 | 13:00, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

::: Okay, watched; the full song is there, but the first and third verses are played in the background under scenes with the other characters - didn't notice the first time. :::: Oh, didn't notice the bit with the composer and the year. I think that's just a T:NO RW violation, especially given the edit history of the IP user who created it. I'll remove it. 14:51, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

The song's lyrics.edit source

These be the only lyrics I know. I read someone found it on BBC. But I found zero more of the lyircs. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 2a00:23c7:ae85:3a01:7870:551:d54d:50ad (talk).

This is an odd one - there's a 10 year old clip on YouTube that has the lyrics as written here - but the version on iPlayer only has the last verse from what I can tell (DVD extra maybe?). The few places it exists online claiming it was composed by J. F. Mitchell circa 1883 (not 1881, also can't see this name/date in the scene so T:NO RW probably but I might have missed it only did a quick skim) are a dead end; there is a composer I've found that was active at that time, and the sheets I've found match this in style from a quick skim, but I didn't see this one specifically. - CodeAndGin | 🗨 | 04:36, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
