A Morning Star cow, also known as a κοω (plural: κοως) in pseudo-Hellenic glyphs, was a species of cattle on the Morning Star. (PROSE: Love & War [+]Loading...["Love & War (short story)"])

Biology[[edit] | [edit source]]

Sideridis described 76's coat as the colour of "ochre and flame, like a morning sky"; κοως' fur, at least that of those κοως domesticated by the Lesser Time Elementals, was naturally camouflaged against the orange sand and sky of the Morning Star. Sideridis further noted that "you can't herd κοως when they're in the mood to play"; they often exhibited their natural patterns of behaviour of playing a form of hide and seek. Furthermore, "76 [wasn't] the brightest", lacking much intelligence. (PROSE: Love & War [+]Loading...["Love & War (short story)"])

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

At some point, they were domesticated by the Lesser Time Elementals on the Morning Star. Elemental sunlings adopted their hide-and-seek-like form of play, naming it "playing κοω".

Sideridis was a farmer who looked after several κοως on the Neutronides estate fields in the desert wilds outside the Cathedral of Time. Many of these κοως, including 76 and 289, were abducted by the Hyperspace Tyrants, as the Tyrants believed they were actually Lesser Time Elementals and intended to use them as hostages.

Later, the Tyrants stole an ancient ark from the great docking bay in the Cathedral of Time, using the κοω hostages to negotiate their escape and teleporting the hostages in front of Dionus and Susit once they had done so. This caused some chaos, with cows stampeding around the room and into various timeships. It was unclear whether these κοως were ever returned to the Neutronides estate.
