Billie Davis, born 22 December 1945 in Woking, Surrey, England, had an uncredited role as a member of the Tribe of Gum in "An Unearthly Child."  Davis went on to have a successful career as a pop singer, becoming part of what in the US was known as "the British Invasion."  Among her hits were Angel of the Morning in 1967. Davis appeared as herself in Pop Gear, an anthology of what would later be known as music videos, in 1965.
According to the Internet Movie Database, the Billie Davis who appeared in the story was the Surrey-born female pop singer who had (in 1963) recently enjoyed a major hit with her record "Tell Him". However, the more authoritative DVD Production Notes for An Unearthly Child indicate that the Billie Davis who appears in the story was actually a male actor cast as one of the tribesmen. In fact, the singer would have been physically unable to appear in the production as she was recovering from a serious motor vehicle accident at the time it was recorded and had her jaw wired shut.

Billie Davis had an uncredited role as a member of the Tribe of Gum in the Doctor Who television story An Unearthly Child. (DWMS Summer 1994)
