Collin was working for a music company in the late [[1980s]] when he first met [[Fifth Doctor|the Doctor]] and [[Nyssa]] who where on the trail for a Music recorder that held the power to release The Voice onto the Earth

Collin then joined forces with the Doctor and Nyssa after discovering the recorder was in fact his own.
