A hermit (formerly Investigator Four) was a Time Lord in the Celestial Intervention Agency who joined the Celestis before doubting their ways and orchestrating the fall of Mictlan.
The hermit manipulated Investigator One into unleashing the Fendahl Predator on Mictlan, completely destroying the Celestis' link to the universe. The Hermit asked One to shoot him in the back, allowing him to regenerate into a humanoid form. The hermit then decided to live on Earth, walking toward a town in the Nevada desert.
