The prequel to Asylum of the Daleks was the 2nd prequel of the seventh series of Doctor Who. It was released in the US iTunes Store and Amazon Instant Video. [1]

Synopsis

The Doctor receives a message from a mysterious hooded stranger – a woman called Darla Von Karlsen wants to meet him…

Plot

The Doctor was sitting in a tea shop, enjoying a cup of tea and a Jammy Dodger. He glanced at the table next to him and paused when he spotted a mysterious hooded figure at the end of the table facing him. He turned to face in front of him again, but suddenly the figure was sitting at his table.

The hooded figure, whose face cannot be seen, said that a woman wants to meet him. The Doctor tried to brush it off, saying that's nice, but he is married, and doesn't discuss his work in public. The hooded figure said that he knows that and waved his hand; suddenly, the cafe is empty.

The Doctor, intrigued now, asked the hooded figure who it was, but the figure merely replied it was a messenger for a woman named Darla Von Karlsen. The Doctor said he never heard of her and, standing to leave, found himself in a dark room. The Doctor now realised that this message was a form of psychic projection and he was dreaming. The figure asked him if he knew where the room was, but the Doctor ignored him and tried to figure out how to break the message. He tried to wake himself up and came to in a chair on a beach, but almost immediately the figure told him he was still dreaming.

He floated in space with the hooded figure, who gave him space-time coordinates and explained that Darla wanted help saving her daughter. He asked the Doctor if he recognized the planet coordinates; the Doctor was visibly shaken by them. The hooded figure tried to make him say the name of the planet, but the Doctor refused. Unrelenting, the figure pushed him to say it until he woke up in the console room of the TARDIS, whispering the name of the planet: Skaro.
