- 1938 - Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre performed an adaptation of H. G. Wells' The War of the Worlds on CBS Radio. The broadcast caused nationwide panic across the United States of America. Although calm soon settled as America realised it was only a play, unknown to the public some elements of the production were based on actual events. (AUDIO: Invaders from Mars)

- 1914 - Anna Wing, who played Anatta in TV: Kinda, was born at Hackney in London.
- 1954 - Chris MacDonnell, who played Arnheim in TV: Dragonfire, was born at Redruth, Cornwall, England.
- 1965 - "Death of a Spy", Episode 3 of TV: The Myth Makers, was first broadcast.
- 1965 - The first part of COMIC: Enter: The Go-Ray was released.
- 1978 - Brian Hayles, writer of half a dozen Doctor Who scripts, died.
- 1979 - Graham Ashley, who played the Overseer in TV: The Underwater Menace, died.
- 1997 - Doctor Who creator Sydney Newman died from a heart attack in Toronto, Canada.
- 1999 - Cavan Kendall (Achilles in TV: The Myth Makers) died.
