Oscar Botcherby was a English resident of 20th century Spain.

Biography

Oscar's passion was stage acting, though he was working between roles as manager at Las Cadenas, a restaurant in Seville, owned by a friend of his. Oscar collected moths, expertly using cyanide to kill them. He had a Spanish girlfriend named Anita, whom he took moth hunting. In 1985, he met the Sixth Doctor outside the hacienda occupied by the Sontarans.

Later, while Oscar was working at Las Cadenas, Shockeye and the Second Doctor (who had been temporarily transformed into an Androgum) entered and ordered a massive meal. After the Second Doctor and Shockeye ate their meal and ran up a large bill of 81,600 pesetas, Oscar refused to accept the twenty narg note Shockeye offered as payment. Enraged, Shockeye stabbed and killed him with a meat knife. In his dying words he regretted that no one would see his definitive Hamlet, and told Anita to look after his moth collection.

Later, the Doctor used the cyanide left by Oscar to kill Shockeye, effectively giving Oscar his revenge. (TV: The Two Doctors)
