Courtney Pine was a jazz musician. Ace got his autograph when she and the Seventh Doctor attended one of his performances on 23 November 1988. (TV: Silver Nemesis)
Behind the scenes
Courtney Pine was the third celebrity ever to portray himself in Doctor Who, after Kenneth Kendall in The War Machines and Alex MacIntosh in Day of the Daleks. He was the first non-newsreader to do so. In real life, he is English and was born on 18 March 1964, but Silver Nemesis did not come close to making such a precise definition of his birth date or nationality.
