The Cornucopia Caper was a Doctor Who Magazine comic story featuring the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond and Rory Williams. Notably, it introduced Miss Ghost, a mysterious women from the Doctor's past, Horatio Lynk, a jewel thief, and the crime-state city of Cornucopia, who would all make a re-appearance in the 50th anniversary comic special, Hunters of the Burning Stone.

Summary

The Doctor, Amy, and Rory arrive in the city of Cornucopia on an unnamed planet. Cornucopia is a hive for crime where law enforcers are illegal. The Doctor and Rory are taken hostage by a gang of criminals, led by Granny Solasta. Solasta is leading an operation to raid the Bank of Heaven, every criminal's dream job, and with Rory's life at ransom, The Doctor is forced to transport them in the TARDIS. but the lust of crime soon begins to have an effect on him, whilst back in the city, Amy forms an alliance with Horatio Lynk, a professional thief.

Notes

• Miss Ghost makes it clear that she is someone from the Doctor's past, and before vanishing, she says that she will see the Doctor again quite soon, starting a new story arc in the DWM comic stories.

Continuity

• The Doctor again tries and fails to take Amy and Rory to Rio de Janeiro. (TV: The Hungry Earth, PROSE: The Glamour Chase)
• One of the members of the Hijacker's guild appears to be of the same species as Majenta Pryce.
• Professor K'rokk is a Mobox, previously seen in COMIC: Ophidius and COMIC: Uroboros.
• After Rory slaps him, the Doctor declares that he has been slapped by angry mothers (TV: Aliens of London / The Lazarus Experiment), angry brides (TV: The Runaway Bride) and angry archeologists (TV: The Impossible Astronaut)
• Amy calls the Doctor and Rory "her boys". (TV: The Vampires of Venice, The Hungry Earth, A Good Man Goes to War)
• The Doctor will visit Cornucopia and meet Horatio and Miss Ghost again, with Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright, 200 years later in his timeline. (COMIC: Hunters of the Burning Stone)
