Tricky Van Baalen was the youngest of the Van Baalen brothers.

He worked for his brothers, finding and processing salvaged spaceships, although his father wanted him to be the captain, this never happened. He once suffered an accident, in which he lost his eyes, his voice, and memory. After he was fitted with synthetic eyes and voice box, his brother convinced him that he was in fact an android.

When the brothers discovered the The Doctor's TARDIS in their ship's orbit, all three were trapped inside by the Eleventh Doctor, who was desperate to find Clara, and was telling them that this is "a salvage of a lifetime". Inside the TARDIS he discovered that he was in fact Human, when he became trapped by a metal beam, and his brother refused to cut through his arm. He was also chased by a future "zombie" version of himself, but their discovery of the TARDIS was negated when the Doctor altered their timeline. (TV: Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS)
