• Mrs Wormwood returns. She last appeared in Invasion of the Bane

• The Brigadier makes his first television appearance since the 1988 Doctor Who Serial Battlefield
• This is the second time that an enemy from the first episodes of a series have appeared in the last two episodes of that Series. In Series 1 the Slitheen appeared in the first episodes Revenge of the Slitheen and returned in the last two episodes The Lost Boy. In Series 2 a Sontaran appears in the first episodes The Last Sontaran and returns in these episodes.
• This is the second Series that another enemy has appeared with the other enemy from the first episodes. In The Lost Boy Mr Smith worked with the Slitheen and in series 2 Mrs Wormwood is working with the Sontaran
