In 1000, the first Leinster Revolt against King Sitric Silkbeard of Dublin, which was instigated by King Brian Boru of Munster, took place in Ireland. King Sitric's power was severely diminished as a result. In 1006, he lamented that he had become little more than a lapdog to Brian. (AUDIO: The Book of Kells)
