The Chancellery Guard was the organization responsible for security and law enforcement on Gallifrey. They reported to the Castellan, and were normally equipped with staser pistols. (DW: The Deadly Assassin)
- It is unclear whether the Chancellery Guard belong to the Time Lord or one of the common Gallifreyan classes.

In overall charge of the Chancellary Guard is the Castellan. The Castellan acts as police chief and holds a seat on the High Council of Gallifrey. The Castellan advices the Council and the President on matters of security and Rassilon law.
The Castellan (DW: Arc of Infinity) advised and oversaw the execution of the Doctor when his body was possessed by Omega. The Castellan sits on the High Council due to his important position.
