Salford was a part of greater Manchester, England.
In 1965, the Sixth Doctor and Melanie Bush visited Salford. They got involved in a mystery at a local pub and hairdresser's involving the Wishing Beast. (AUDIO: The Vanity Box)
The Sixth Doctor was arrested by D.I. Patricia Menzies of the Salford constabulory in 2008 on the charge of murder. (AUDIO: The Condemned) Later, Menzies also arrested Charlotte Pollard on suspicion of murder. Both the Doctor and Charley revisited Salford and worked with Menzies when a mysterious pound coin from the future turned up in a coin-operated vending machine in the area. (AUDIO: The Raincloud Man)
