Carole Rose was a notorious highway-woman with a fearsome reputation for robberies around York before she was hanged in 1735. Her image was used ten years later in 1745 along a forest path called the Malthill Way, through Malthill Wood by a shield-o-gram, the guardian of a damaged craft piloted by Fenfoff Fonfeffian. Such was the fear created by the ghostly apparition of Carole Rose, that for a while Fentoff was unable to control it until the Eleventh Doctor arrived and rescued it. (COMIC: Malthill Way)
