Colin Salmon played Doctor Moon in Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead. He is best known for his role as MI6 agent Charles Robinson in the James Bond films of Pierce Brosnan from 1997-2002; during this time he also played the role of Bond for screen tests of actresses for the films. His co-star in those Bond films was Samantha Bond who played Miss Moneypenny.
On November 7, 2008, UK Tabloids reported a rumour that Salmon was being considered to replace David Tennant as the Eleventh Doctor when the series resumes in 2010.[1]
