- 1963 - The cast of the new science fiction series Doctor Who was revealed: William Hartnell, Carole Ann Ford, Jacqueline Hill and William Russell.[1]
- 1963 - Script editor David Whitaker commissioned Terry Nation to write The Mutants (later known as The Daleks).
