Invaders of the Vortex is a Doctor Who Adventures comic strip published in 2014.

Summary

Robots from the Doctor’s future pursue the TARDIS through the Vortex to punish him for crimes against the Glorious Robot King and the Eternal Dynasty.

Plot

The TARDIS is under attack! It is being chased through the vortex by unnamed aliens forcing the Doctor and Clara to make an emergency landing. Any hope of losing their pursuers is short lived as they soon come face to face with the enemy. A pair of giant robots declare that the Doctor must die for his crimes against the Glorious Robot King of the Eternal Dynasty. The Doctor it appears was responcible for having destroyed the Robot Kings' time ship that he planned to invade and conquer history with. Caught up in the blast the Robots were thrown into the Time Vortex drifting for centuries until they spotted the TARDIS and went in pursuit. Clara's intervention buys the Doctor some time and the Robots are unable to harm her recognising her as a civilian. Clara makes the point that as the Doctor has no knowledge of the events the Robots are referring to, its obviously something that has yet to occur in the Doctor's future. So at this point the Doctor is still innocent and therefore cant be judged - yet! The Robots walk away to wait for the Doctor's future to catch up, they'll be waiting...
