Joe Ahearne directed five episodes of series 1 of the BBC Wales version of Doctor Who, making him the most prolific director of that series — and, by extension, of Christopher Eccleston's tenure as the Ninth Doctor.
He directed the following episodes:
- Bad Wolf
- Boom Town
- Dalek
- Father's Day
- User:Mini-mitch/Sandbox Four
- The Parting of the Ways
- User:Tangerineduel/Sandbox 9
His first television production, entitled Latin in a Dark Room, won the Edinburgh awards.[source needed]
Contrary to popular rumour he was not born the same day that the first episode of Doctor Who was transmitted.[1]
