Mary Shelley was a famous Earth author of the early 19th century, who most famously wrote Frankenstein and knew Lord Byron.

(WC: Shada (webcast), BFA: Shada (audio release)) He again mentioned that he spent time with Lord Byron and Mary Shelley when re-awakening following an encounter in the Matrix. (BFA: Neverland)

Shelley also apparently travelled with the Doctor for a time as a companion (BFA: Storm Warning), although the extent of her relationship with the Doctor has yet to be chronicled in full. (BFA: The Company of Friends)
