Sonning Palace was a bishop's palace in England.
After her husband King Richard II was deposed in 1399, Queen Isabella was imprisoned in the palace. The First Doctor, Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright and Vicki Pallister met her there in 1400. She was eventually released by the new king, Henry IV. (AUDIO: The Doctor's Tale)
