Middleton was a village in Suffolk in England on Earth.
A fire elemental emerged from the Earth's crust in Middleton at the end of the 19th century. It encountered the amnesiac Eighth Doctor, who killed the creature by a huge flood released by the destruction of the Middleton dam. (PROSE: The Burning)
