Brighton


Brighton was a town in Sussex, England famous for its seashore. (AUDIO: Pier Pressure)

On 14 August 1887, George William Nevil and his fiancée Mary Elizabeth Reilly were killed in a freak snowstorm in Brighton. The music hall performer and astrologer Gypsy Nancy Lee seemingly predicted this event three days before it happened. (AUDIO: Jago in Love)

The Fourth Doctor tried unsuccessfully on two different occasions to visit Brighton during the opening of its famous Pavilion; the first time he ended up at Fang Rock. in the 1900s. (TV: Horror of Fang Rock) The second attempt was the correct place but during the winter. (TV: The Leisure Hive)
