He used his "monocle" to implant suggestions into the minds of his subordinates. (TV: The War Games) When he posed as a captain in the version of the American Civil War, he used the name Beauregard Lee. (PROSE: The Eight Doctors) He tried to capture the Second Doctor and his allies, but was himself taken prisoner by the resistance.
