Perhaps because he wasn't born in the UK? Info from the web suggests that he originally came from Australia or New Zealand. His earliest appearances were in Australia and Philip Madoc mentioned him "going back to New Zealand" in an interview.

Perhaps because he wasn't born in the UK? Info from the web suggests that he originally came from Australia or New Zealand. His earliest appearances were in Australia and Philip Madoc mentioned him "going back to New Zealand" in an interview.
