Calamity Jane (film)

Calamity Jane was a musical film about Calamity Jane, a historical figure of the 19th century. In 1953, Emma-Louise Cowell and her best friend Kate went to see it five times and Emma-Louise later purchased the LP. She identified "Just Blew in from the Windy City" as her favourite song, which she sang in front of Alesha and Jade. (TV: Out of Time)

Behind the scenes

In the real world, Calamity Jane was both a 1953 film and a theatrical production from the 1960s. Provided that the DWU and the real world are the same in this instance — a fairly dubious assumption — Emma-Louise is most likely talking about the film. She travelled forward in time from 1953, long before the stage play had been written and performed for the first time.
