The World Zone Authority was the successor to the United Nations on Earth in the early 21st century. Nations were grouped into Zones answerable to a World President. Scientist Ramón Salamander gained power over the Central European Zone through use of "natural" disasters he created, and murdered other politicians to allow his own trusted officials to take top jobs in the government. This plot was discovered and stopped by the Second Doctor. (TV: The Enemy of the World)
In 2054, General Tchike had direct orders from the inner circle of the World Zones Authority to capture thermosystron bombs from the Montana Republican Militia. (PROSE: Alien Bodies)
