Nayigeren was one the Magi who intended to visit a special baby. According to the Fourth Doctor, he was the "Lost Wise Man", who the Doctor had always thought was mythical.
While the other three Magi used the stars to determine the location of the baby, Nayigeren used time. As a result, he was four years too late when he arrived. The Doctor sent him to Egypt, where the baby's family was now located. (PROSE: The Doctor's Cross Word)
