An incarnation of the Doctor was the husband of Patience. (AUDIO: Cold Fusion, TV: The Brain of Morbius) One account suggests that this was not an incarnation of the Doctor before his first but an incarnation of the Other, of whom the Doctor was a reincarnation. (PROSE: Lungbarrow)
Patience remembered this incarnation newly regenerated. His new hands had not touched her yet. He was taller and hairier than his previous, beardless body. He had a blond curly head and a beard which was much coarser. He considered himself old. At this time, his firstborn was soon to become a father. (PROSE: Cold Fusion)
It was this incarnation who was present at the birth of his granddaughter, Susan Foreman. He also witnessed the culling of his twelve children by the then Lord President. To protect his wife he took Patience to the Machine for safety. It crashed on an ice planet, found by human colonists in the 26th century. (PROSE: Cold Fusion)
This incarnation's face was seen in the Fourth Doctor's mindbending battle with Morbius. (TV: The Brain of Morbius)
Behind the scenes
The face of this Doctor was first introduced in TV: The Brain of Morbius but it was not until AUDIO: Cold Fusion thirty years later, in 2016 that they were confirmed to be incarnations of the Doctor.
