Archie was a Glaswegian man and one of the "primitives" who Strax brawled with in his weekends off from his regular duties as butler of the Paternoster Gang. When Strax received a letter requesting his presence in an unconscious "conference call" with Vastra and Jenny, he handed Archie a spade and requested that he knock him out, to which he complied.
