Archie was a Glaswegian man and one of the "primitives" who Strax brawled with in his weekends off from his regular duties as butler of the Paternoster Gang. When Strax received a letter requesting his presence in an unconscious "conference call" with Vastra and Jenny, he handed Archie a spade and requested that he knock him out, to which he complied. - Archie Bell was an immortal Scottish man who worked for the Torchwood Institute in the late 19th century, and Torchwood Two was based in Glasgow. However, no valid source has drawn the connection between the two characters.
