Ball-Pit Beast was a Doctor Who Adventures comic strip published in 2014.

Summary

At the Drop Zone Asteroid the low-level comfort field telepathically creates a monster in the ball-pit!

Plot

The Doctor and Clara arrive at the Dropzone Asteroid in the year 2936. The Drop Zone is a space nursery where busy mums and dads leave thousands of their alien children to play with others. The Dropzone is covered with a low-level comfort field that makes them feel cared for and all seems to be going well until Clara notices a monster emerging from the ball-pit! Clara starts throwing the balls back towards it and realises that the "monster" only wants to play. The Doctor realises that the monster has been created by the comfort field field. The telepathic field picked up how much the kids wanted to play with their parents and made a monster of their thoughts. The robotic nannies of the Drop Zone suggest turning off the comfort field but the Doctor has a better plan — suggesting they take the day off and actually play with the kids until the monster simply vanishes.
