Deletion[[edit source]]

I have found promotional material that says this will be an ongoing period. The first is [1] which has details the three releases, and [2] has the line "We're delighted to reveal more details of May's first of our Doctor chronicle releases: Doctor Who - The Ninth Doctor Chronicles... " which directly says this is the first of a set of releases. Adric♥NyssaTalk? 16:02, May 29, 2017 (UTC)

Yes, thanks AdricLovesNissa. It was based on those announcements that I made this page. But I'd also like to clarify that, as of now, theres no official name, as Big Finish has called this "Doctor Chronicles", "Doctors Chronicles", "Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Doctors Chronicles", and perhaps more variations of these. However, this seemed a good name until we get an official name. OncomingStorm12th 16:57, May 29, 2017 (UTC)
Oh, and the plural form was used back when it was released, on the "What's new" section of the site, thought I don't think there's a way of seeing this anymore. Anyway, given that most used the singular form, it's indeed better to leave it at "Doctor Chronicles". OncomingStorm12th 17:01, May 29, 2017 (UTC)

Way forward[[edit source]]

I always wondered where the plural form came from. Thanks for explaining.

Also thanks to AdricLovesNyssa for providing a proof that it is planned as a series. I specifically refer to "first of our Doctor chronicle releases". My problem was that it wasn't clear whether they use it as a name of a series or just cut off the Doctor's number from the name of the box set. And to be honest, I agree with OncomingStorm12th that we still cannot be sure. Note, for instance the lowercase "c" in "chronicle" and its singular form. That's not how series titles are usually treated. So I do not consider this to be the final page name. It is, however, currently based on whatever few promotional materials available and it does look like a budding series.

My strong suspicion is that things will become clear when BF finally launches its long promised new website. They've been talking about some radical changes to their ranges, including the main range, and it is completely natural to implement those changes simultaneously with the launch of the website. So I hope everything will be revealed in time.

Thank you both for fact-checking. And I suddenly have an idea for another source. Here's a quote from Vortex #99, p. 12: "It's the start of an exciting new Doctor Who range". So even the keyword "range" is now present. It remains to wait till they name it officially. Amorkuz 17:22, May 29, 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, ranges for Big Finish as a really loose term sometimes. Also, bit aside from the discussion, but: new website? Haven't heard about it. When was it announced? Is there a date for its launch?
PS: hopefully, the whole "The New Series" will be broken down into the propper ranges when the new site comes. OncomingStorm12th 17:27, May 29, 2017 (UTC)
They talk about it on the podcast from time to time. If I remember correctly, last time Briggs talked about a launch in Autumn. Though I always assumed it's not yet set in stone. And yes, I do hope they'll deal with the New Series Pandemonium then. It's one of the reasons I'm not very active in the BF New Series template thread. I'm just in the holding pattern. Oh right, the podcast. Not really something I pay much attention to, but good to know they intend to change the website. OncomingStorm12th 20:21, May 29, 2017 (UTC)
